The giant of on line poker sites is going out of this world, and you could go with them in the Battle of the Planets at PokerStars. There are leaderboard races and then there’s the PokerStars Battle of the Planets which is leaving all other on line poker sites eating their star dust! The on line poker Battle of the Planets is a cash leaderboard race that includes any-one and every-one that wants to be included, no matter how much they play or on what tables, giving all sit n’ go players the chance to race to the stars. The leaderboard is made up of 8 divisions each named for a planet. The divisions are divided up according to the buy-ins of the sit n’ go tournaments that players participate in. The lowest division is Mercury which is for tournaments with buy-ins of $1 - $2.99, whilst the highest is Jupiter which is for tournaments with buy-ins of $300 plus. Of course the prize pool reflects the different buy-in levels with Mercury having the lowest prize pool of $3,000 in cash prizes, and Jupiter with the highest of a massive $10,000 in cash prizes. PokerStars has made Battle of the Planets even fairer than the 8 divisions however. In addition to players only competing against players in their own buy-in division, players will also only be competing against fellow players in their own orbits. There are two orbits, low and high, and they reflect the amount you play. Low Orbit players will receive points according to 20 tournaments in a week, whilst high orbit players will get points on 100 tournaments played in a week. In each orbit, blocks of the set number of tournaments will be recorded and at the end of the week only your best block will be used for your points allocation. The prize pool for each division is divided equally between the high and low orbit leaderboards.
At the end of each week not only will the leaderboard winners get their cash prize but the top 10 players from each leaderboard will go through to the PokerStars Battle of the Planets on line poker $50,000 Triple Shootout tournament. The Triple Shootout tournament will take place once a month with the best of all the weekly sit n’ go leader board players fighting it out for the huge cash prize.
